COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Peter W. Atwater will be named
Treasurer of BANC ONE CORPORATION (NYSE: ONE) upon completion of the merger of
First USA, Inc. and BANC ONE. He will have responsibility for Liability
Management, Liquidity, and Capital Management at BANC ONE CORPORATION, it was
announced by Michael J. McMennamin, Executive Vice President of BANC ONE
CORPORATION.
Atwater has been serving as Executive Vice President and Treasurer of
First USA, Inc. for the past year. At First USA, he was responsible for on-
and off-balance funding, capital management, liquidity, and hedging. Prior to
that, he was with J.P. Morgan where he was Managing Director and head of the
Asset Finance Group.
"Peter Atwater, with his financial management expertise in liquidity
management and securitizations, will be a significant addition to BANC ONE's
management team," said BANC ONE's Executive Vice President McMennamin.
Atwater, 36, holds a BA degree in economics from the College of William and
Mary in Virginia, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa.
