Microsoft Exchange Server And Fulcrum FIND! To Be Used Together As Vehicle
                       For Corporate Publishing Project

    AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Fulcrum Technologies Inc.
(Nasdaq: FULCF; Toronto Stock Exchange: FUL) today outlined details of a
Fulcrum(R) FIND!(TM) application being implemented at Consolidated Edison
Company of New York, Inc. (Con Edison).  Con Edison licensed Fulcrum FIND! and
will deploy the search and retrieval software as part of an extensive
migration to Microsoft(R) Exchange Server from MS Mail and another messaging
system.  The mail system migration will involve over 10,000 users by the time
the project is complete.  Fulcrum FIND! -- a seamlessly integrated add-on that
provides content-based searching across Microsoft Exchange Server folders --
will allow Con Edison to use Microsoft's  messaging product as a vehicle to
publish Corporate Policies and Procedures.
    "In our Application Development group, we started to look at information-
retrieval software a couple of years ago when the Auditing Department asked us
to come up with an online Corporate Policies and Procedures application that
users across the organization could benefit from," said Richard Criscuolo,
Technical Specialist, Application Services at Con Edison.  "At that time,
there was a separate exercise underway to evaluate the upgrade path for our
corporate email system.  The combined strengths of Fulcrum FIND! and Microsoft
Exchange Server have enabled us to solve both problems at the same time, and
we have not had to do custom development work to launch the policies and
procedures application. With other groups within the company just now getting
a taste of the powerful searching capabilities that Fulcrum adds to
Microsoft's product, it is just a matter of time before other possible
applications are identified."
    The project has been underway since the middle of August, and currently
involves 240 users in a pilot phase.
