Red Brick Warehouse-based Data Warehouse Solutions Now Available From Industry
and Application Experts
LOS GATOS, Calif., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Red Brick(TM) Systems, Inc.
(Nasdaq: REDB), The Data Warehouse Company(TM), today announced a major
expansion of the third-party sales channels through which it markets, sells
and supports its relational database (RDBMS) products and service for data
warehouse applications in the United States and Canada.
Red Brick data warehouse products are now available through more than 20
value-added resellers, system integrators and consulting partners in the U.S.
and Canada.
Information technology (IT) management and business analyst end-users in a
wide range of industries can work with these data warehousing experts to build
Red Brick-based data warehouse solutions.
Red Brick's channel partners can create decision support solutions for
their customers by combining their industry-specific expertise with best-of-
breed technology from Red Brick's data warehouse RDBMS to hardware platforms
and front-end tools.

Builds on Success of Red Brick's PaVER Program
The channel expansion announced today builds on the success of Red Brick's
Partner and Value-Extended Reseller (PaVER) program, launched in 1993. Red
Brick's PaVER program was created to foster relationships with third-party
organizations whose products and services complement Red Brick's data
warehouse business strategy.
The first phase of the PaVER program emphasized building relationships
with software tool vendors to support Red Brick Warehouse. Red Brick built
one of the industry's largest data warehouse application partner programs with
almost 70 innovative software vendor partners by the end of 1995.
The second phase of the PaVER program, announced today, emphasizes value-
extended resellers and the growth in the number of organizations building data
warehouse solutions on Red Brick. Red Brick's network includes some of the
most recognized organizations in data warehousing and database marketing
including Acxiom, ALTA Analytics, james martin + co, Unisys, Vento Software
and VIPS.

The expansion of Red Brick's channel network will focus on three main
classes of organizations:
-- Value-added Resellers (VARs) - organizations that develop specific
applications that bundle Red Brick licenses with hardware and other
software, usually for sale to vertical markets.
-- System Integrators - organizations that integrate hardware,
software and services to provide end-users with complete data warehouse
solutions.
-- Consulting Partners - market, application or technology
organizations that provide design and implementation services and
recommend, but do not sell, hardware or other software.
Red Brick's channel programs will focus on developing relationships
with partners who are experts in the fastest-growing markets for data
warehouse applications: retail, consumer packaged goods, healthcare,
insurance, telecommunications and information services companies.
