BILLERICA, Mass., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Peritus Software Services, Inc.
(Nasdaq: PTUS), an industry-leading provider of Software Evolution Products
and Services, today announced that it has appointed Richard Wilkie as Vice
President of Product Development. In this position, Mr. Wilkie will be
responsible for products developed in Peritus' Billerica Development Center.
He will also have responsibility for designing and overseeing market launch
processes for Peritus Development Centers throughout the world.
Mr. Wilkie bring s a breadth of R&D and Engineering Management experience
from companies like Gould, Inc., Apollo Computer, and most recently Hewlett
Packard. His roles over the last 20 years range from Software, Hardware,
and Customer Support Engineering to Manager and Director level positions
responsible for delivering profitable products and services on time and within
budget. Mr. Wilkie's successful product development efforts include areas
such as Internet Security, Multi-Media Systems, Distributed Middleware, UNIX
Operating Systems, Industrial Automation, and Office Applications. While at
HP, he was responsible for the development and rollout of the Praesidium line
of Internet security products.

assume responsibility for coordinating productization, product launch, and
engineering site management within the Peritus company headquarters in
Billerica, MA.
Mr. Wilkie will round out the R&D Executive staff currently reporting
directly to Dominic Chan, Chairman and Chief Technical Officer of Peritus.
He joins Adarsh Arora, VP of R&D for Peritus' Development Centers in Chicago,
IL and Bangalore, India; and Al Schutte, VP of Enterprise Product Development
for Peritus' Development Centers in Cincinnati and Dayton, OH.
Hewlett Packard selected Mr. Wilkie for their Accelerated Development
Program, an intensive one-year executive leadership program to prepare the top
1/2 % of senior staff to assume General Managing roles. Richard earned his
BSEE from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, MA. He lives with his
wife Liz and their sons Jonathan and Nathaniel in Groton, MA.
