announced that it has entered into a marketing alliance with Triple A
Protection, the leading regional supplier of electronic security and fire
detection systems and services. PG Energy PowerPlus provides a wide variety
of energy and energy-related products including natural gas, electricity,
propane and repair and maintenance service for gas fired equipment. This
alliance with Triple A Protection marks the first non-energy consumer product
being offered by PG Energy PowerPlus.

This is the second marketing alliance formed by PEI. In October of 1997,
electricity was added to PG Energy PowerPlus' portfolio of energy products
through an alliance with CNG Energy Services of Pittsburgh, one of the largest
power marketers in the nation. PG Energy PowerPlus' interest in the
electronic security and fire detection system industry is fueled by the
industry's rapid growth due to high demand created by certain societal trends.
Those trends include the aging of the population and their concern with crime,
the increasing number of dual income households being left vacant during
business hours and the need for those working at home to protect business-
