VANCOUVER, Wash., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Electric Lightwave, Inc. (ELI)
(Nasdaq: ELIX), an integrated communications services provider, today
announced an agreement to purchase enhanced frame relay transport services
from Intermedia Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: ICIX).
The three-year contract allows ELI to market and resell Intermedia's
enhanced data networking services to customers beyond the boundaries of ELI's
western U.S. footprint. ELI customers will benefit from the speed,
reliability and reach of Intermedia's nationwide frame relay network.

allowed us to link our frame relay networks together," said Dave Sharkey,

value to our aggressive network expansion and our strategy of upgrading to ATM
technology."
Frame relay, a switching technology based on the computerized sizing,
sorting and sending of packets of data, is the current industry standard for
high-speed data transfer.
