RENO, Nev., March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Reno Air, Inc.
(Nasdaq: RENO; PCX: RNO) today announced the appointment of Joanne Smith as
Reno Air senior vice president, marketing and planning, reporting to
CEO Joe O'Gorman.
Smith will be responsible for sales, advertising, marketing and the
planning functions including inventory, pricing and yield, charters, route
planning and market analysis.
"Joanne adds a wealth of marketing experience to our team of industry
veterans, and will initially focus on helping us better define our niche and
develop our strengths," said Reno Air CEO Joe O'Gorman. "This new appointment
is another step in bringing in the expertise necessary to reduce costs,
improve our product and restore the airline to profitability."
Smith joins Reno Air from Midway Airlines in Raleigh-Durham, North
Carolina, where she was the senior vice president of marketing. She has more
than 16 years of airline industry experience and an extensive background in
marketing and field service. She was previously vice president marketing and
field services for American Eagle in California.
Reno Air Planning Vice President Dennis Mitchell, who has worked in both
planning and operations, will return to operations as vice president of flight
operations. "Dennis has made many contributions over the years and we look
forward to continued improvement in flight operations under his leadership,"
said O'Gorman.
Separately, Reno Air also announced the appointment of Phil Wegescheide as
the director of financial planning and analysis. He will report to the
finance organization and be responsible for budgeting, cost analysis and
aircraft transactions.
O'Gorman further stated, "We fully intend to continue to review all
elements of the organization and make the changes necessary to reduce costs
and restore profitability."
