ROME, March, 25 /PRNewswire/ Infinity, a SunGard company, today announced
the availability of a comprehensive Year 2000 Test Plan that encompasses the
company's full range of products, including Panorama, Infinity 7, Infinity
Forex, The Devon System and Opus.

Software and SunGard Capital Markets in January, we utilized elements of the
Year 2000 test programs that each company had developed to derive a
comprehensive, uniform approach which will ensure all Infinity products are
tested to the same standard. The resulting Test Plan is available to all
interested clients and will be posted on our Web site," said Michael Ahlmann,
Infinity's Director of Quality Assurance.
The announcement was made at the Annual Meeting of the International Swaps
and Derivatives Association (ISDA) in Rome.
Infinity's Year 2000 Test Plan specifies the Year 2000 and other
date-handling processing requirements as they apply to the processing,
modeling and data handling functions performed by Infinity's software. Test
programs will be developed, executed and analyzed for newly released products
as well to ensure complete Year 2000 compliance across the product family,
The Year 2000 problem is one of the most pressing issues being faced by
the computer industry as the next millennium approaches. Many software
applications were written at a time when programmers had to accommodate
limited disk space. The data had to be pared down as much as possible.
Therefore, date entries are typically stored in the MMDDYY or YYMMDD format.
For example, March 30, 2000 would be entered as 30/03/00, which would be
sorted as 000330. This could cause failure of date calculations when merged
with twentieth century dates. Year 2000 compliance means that products will
be capable of recording, maintaining and processing accurate dates for all
dates including and following January 1, 2000, including leap years.
