PORTLAND, Ore., March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Willamette Industries, Inc.
(NYSE: WLL) has finalized its purchase of MDF D'Aquitaine, a medium density
fiberboard plant in Morcenx, France. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Built in 1989, MDF D'Aquitaine produces 110,000 cubic meters of medium
density fiberboard annually in a variety of sizes and thicknesses. The plant
will help develop Willamette's MDF business in Europe, reaching European
customers that are currently not served by its plant in Clonmel, Ireland.
Willamette Industries owns 1.8 million acres of timberland in the U.S. and
operates 103 manufacturing plants in the U.S., France, Ireland and Mexico.
