ST. LOUIS, March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Edison Brothers Stores Inc.
(Nasdaq: EDBR) today reported same-store sales of $55.7 million for February
1998 (the four weeks ended February 28, 1998). This is a decrease of
2.1 percent, or $1.2 million, from same-store sales of $56.9 million in
February 1997.
Total sales for February 1998 declined 7.6 percent to $58.2 million from
$63 million for the same period last year. Total sales figures reflect the
fact that Edison operated an average of 144 fewer stores during February 1998
than in February 1997.
