Banc One Funds Management Appoints Brunner Head of Finance Group and Thornton Head of Corporate Wholesale Deposits
    COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- William J. Brunner has been
appointed head of the Banc One Funds Management finance group, effective
November 12, and E. Cole Thornton has been appointed Vice President and
Manager of Corporate Wholesale Deposits for Banc One Funds Management
Company, it was announced by Richard D. Lodge, President of Banc One Funds
Management Company.
    Brunner has been Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Bank
One, Cincinnati, NA since May 1995.  Brunner joined Banc One Ohio Corporation
in December 1992 as Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis.  Prior to
that, he was with Star Banc Corporation for three years where he was Assistant
Vice President and Asset/Liability Manager.  From November 1986 until October
1989, he was with Wachovia Corporation in Atlanta, where he was Vice President
and Manager of Funds Management Accounting, Asset/Liability Management.
Previously, he was with Bank South Corporation in Atlanta for three years
where he was Accounting Officer and Manager of Financial Analysis.
    Brunner has a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Georgia
State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from St. Cloud
State University in Minnesota.  He served as a graduate instructor in
Securities Analysis at the College of Business, Northern Kentucky University.
He is past treasurer of The Miami Valley Business Economists.
    Thornton will be responsible for coordinating the collection of wholesale
liabilities within the Banc One network.  He will integrate existing marketing
networks with the national market activity that is currently performed by Banc
One Funds Management.  Thornton will report to Steven Bluhm, Senior Vice
President of Banc One Funds Management.  Thornton will also be the Project One
program manager for Banc One Funds Management Company.  This program will
produce standard and consolidated Funds Management, Treasury, and Federal
Reserve position activity throughout Banc One Corporation (NYSE: ONE).
    During his 24-year tenure, Thornton was the Chief Investment Officer and
head of the Funds Management Department at Premier Bancorp, which became Banc
One Louisiana Corporation on January 2, 1996.

capital management for Banc One Corporation which had assets of $98.6 billion
and common equity of $8.2 billion at September 30, 1996.  In addition to
