COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Banc One Corporation, Columbus,
Ohio (NYSE: ONE) reported today that it has completed the charter and systems
consolidation of its fourteen affiliate banks throughout Wisconsin. The new
single charter organization is known statewide as Bank One, Wisconsin and is
headquartered in Milwaukee.
Single statewide charters provide customers with full service access and
streamline operations within each state. Banc One currently operates single,
statewide chartered banks in eight of the twelve states it serves. Charters
in the remaining four states will be consolidated during 1997.
Banc One Corporation had assets of $98.6 billion and common equity of
$8.2 billion at September 30, 1996 and operates 1,503 banking offices. Banc
One also owns several additional corporations that engage in credit card and
