WILMINGTON, Del., July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Electronic Payment Services,
Inc. (EPS) continued the westward expansion of its EFT processing services
with the addition of 42 new processing customers in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio,
Michigan and Wisconsin during the first half of 1996. These new processing
clients represent over half of the 75 new processing customers added in 11
states between January and June. Processing services sold include automated
teller machine (ATM) terminal driving, off-line debit card processing, card
file maintenance and authorization, and gateway access to regional and
national networks.
The new processing customers added in the Midwestern states represent 76
ATMs and 70,000 debit cards, with off-line debit card processing for up to
30,000 Visa Check Card and MasterCard MasterMoney cards. EPS currently drives
12,422 ATMs for over 1,000 financial institutions, and processes 700,000
off-line debit cards for
90 institutions.
John Beahn, chief marketing officer for EPS, said, "We're very pleased
with the response to our family of EFT processing services as we've expanded
in these new markets. We believe our success to date is the result of our
reputation for reliable ATM processing as well as high interest in off-line
debit cards and our line of direct banking services. We're also fortunate to
have strong partnerships with state-wide trade associations." The EPS line of
direct banking services includes multiple ways to deliver financial services
and bill payment to the home via telephone, personal computer, personal
financial management software and (in the future) the Internet. In May, the
Wisconsin Credit Union League & Affiliates became the newest trade association
to endorse EPS when they announced that they selected EPS as the preferred
provider of EFT processing services to Wisconsin credit unions.
