ROBERT GOLITZ JOINS ELECTRONIC PAYMENT SERVICES, INC. AS EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, QUALITY ASSURANCE AND PROCESS CONTROL

    WILMINGTON, Del., July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Electronic Payment Services,
Inc. (EPS) today announced the appointment of Robert T. Golitz as executive
vice president, quality assurance and process control, effective August 26,
1996.  Golitz previously served as president and chief operating officer,
Fleet Mortgage Group, Inc., where he led the daily business and operations
activities of the company.  In addition to leading the company through
significant growth and transformation, he implemented Total Quality Management
(TQM) across an organization of 3,700 employees, achieving unprecedented
levels of customer satisfaction.
    In his current position, Golitz will be responsible for managing quality
assurance and process control functions at EPS, working with all areas of the
company to insure superior performance levels and high departmental output.
    Prior to joining Fleet Mortgage Group, Golitz served as senior vice
president and chief information officer for AT&T Universal Card Services
Corp., where he was instrumental in the implementation of systems and
technology which led to the receipt of the 1992 National Malcolm Baldridge
Quality Award.  This award is presented annually to individuals and
organizations with the highest levels of quality performance in the country.
    Golitz will report directly to David Van Lear, chairman and chief
executive officer, EPS.  "Bob Golitz possesses in-depth experience in business
planning and management, as well as broad experience in quality assurance
