RICHMOND, Va., Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- James River Corporation (NYSE: JR)
announced today that Alan R. Guibord has joined the company as vice president,
chief information officer.  Mr. Guibord, 49, will have global responsibility
for all information technology and systems activities in the company.
Previously, this position had been vacant.
    Mr. Guibord has over 25 years of experience managing information
technology and systems.  Most recently, he was vice president, information
technology for R.R. Donnelley & Sons in Chicago.  He also held similar
positions at PictureTel and Timeplex Incorporated.  Mr. Guibord is a member of
the advisory boards of Microsoft, Oracle and 3Comm.
    Mr. Guibord holds a bachelor's of science degree in business management/
accounting from Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass.  "Information
