WALTHAM, Mass., Dec. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- ImmuLogic Pharmaceutical
Corporation (Nasdaq: IMUL) today announced that, as the result of an internal
company review and meeting with the FDA on December 19th, it will initiate an
ALLERVAX(R) CAT product trial in the second quarter of 1997, and will modify
its development plan to include at least one additional trial prior to a PLA
submission of the product to the FDA.

Officer of ImmuLogic Pharmaceutical Corporation.  "We had an extensive meeting
with the FDA on December l9th, in which we discussed the entire ALLERVAX CAT
program.  Although significant advances have been made toward demonstrating
safety and efficacy, we are discussing with the FDA ways to maximize symptom
improvement as well as additional objective measurements of efficacy to be
evaluated in the next trial.  The FDA will then require at least one
additional trial to confirm clinically significant results from the first
trial."
    The development plan for ALLERVAX CAT currently includes a trial to be
initiated in the second quarter of 1997 to evaluate the regimen of a 750
(microgram) dose of ALLERVAX CAT administered twice a week for two weeks.
This dosing regimen has given the most efficacious results in the ALLERVAX CAT
program.  The specifics of the trial design will be discussed with the FDA
over the next couple of months.
    Data from the ALLERVAX(R) RAGWEED trial, which was designed with similar
input from the FDA, will be available in the first quarter of 1997.  The
Company plans to meet with the FDA to discuss that program once these results
are available.
