today announced the addition of Cognos(R), a leading provider of business
intelligence software, to its industry-leading PaVER Gold(TM) partner program.
    Red Brick's PaVER (Partner and Value Extended Reseller) Gold program is a
technical certification initiative and Red Brick's highest level of partner
involvement.  It is designed to provide Red Brick Warehouse users with a
choice of industry-leading products that exploit the specialized decision
support capabilities of Red Brick Warehouse, Red Brick's relational database
(RDBMS) specialized for data warehouse applications, including data marts,
on-line analytical processing (OLAP) and data mining.
    With more than 120 participants, Red Brick's PaVER program is the largest
partner program in the data warehouse industry.  Founded in 1993, the PaVER
program was designed to foster relationships with third-party organizations
whose products and services complement Red Brick's data warehouse technology
and business strategy.
    The PaVER Gold program is designed to certify that partners have committed
to tight interoperability between their products and Red Brick Warehouse and
will support future Red Brick releases within a specified amount of time after
each release.  The PaVER Gold program also certifies that partners have
established reciprocal technical support links with Red Brick to quickly
resolve technical issues with joint customers.
