PITTSBURGH, July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation released information today about plans to rebuild about a four
mile section of I-79 between Bridgeville and the Allegheny/Washington County
Line.
On Monday, July 21, at 9:00 a.m. the right southbound lane of I-79 will be
closed for resurfacing; the northbound left lane will be closed to build a
crossover. The northbound lane work will occur between 9:00 a.m. and sundown
with no restrictions at all other times of day. The southbound resurfacing
will continue till around mid-August when the crossover will occur with
traffic maintained in a single lane in each direction through the work area,
while the northbound lanes are rebuilt.
The reconstruction of the Hendersonville Bridge over I-79 will also occur
as part of the roadway work.
The Lane Construction Corporation is the contractor on this $20.2 million
highway improvement project scheduled to be completed in late 1999.
Motorists should anticipate delays through the workzone, about 33,000
vehicles a day travel on I-79 in that area.
Schedules are subject to weather conditions.
