PennDOT Officials to Report `State of the Interstate' Today To Pennsylvania Secretary of Transportation Bradley L. Mallory

    District Engineer Henry M. Nutbrown will provide PennDOT Secretary of
Transportation Bradley L. Mallory with a report on the "State of the
Interstate" in the Pittsburgh area as the Secretary conducts a day-long,
system-wide road tour of the Interstate Highway System in Western Pennsylvania
from West Virginia to New York.
    The area's rankings on the International Roughness Index will be reported
along with plans to improve the surfaces and scores.  The International
Roughness Index is an international system to evaluate the smoothness and
rideability of pavements.
    The briefing will occur at 10:15 a.m. today at the I-79 Northbound
Bridgeville Rest Area.
