RENO, Nev., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Reno Air, Inc. (Nasdaq: RENO; PCX: RNO)
today announced a record load factor of 73.2% for the month of June, which is
an increase of 5.2 load factor points over June, 1996. The airline carried
505,047 passengers, an all-time company record. This represents an increase
of 15 % over the same period last year. During the month of June, Reno Air
flew 293,080,350 revenue passenger miles (RPMs) with a capacity of 400,476,824
available seat miles (ASMs).
Reno Air posted a record 69.1% load factor for the second quarter of 1997,
reflecting an increase of 3.2 load factor points over the same period last
year. The low fare, full service airline carried 1,404,943 passengers, an
increase of 8% over the second quarter of 1996, and flew 802,507,685 RPMs with
a capacity of 1,161,783,983 ASMs.
"We are extremely pleased with our record June and second quarter traffic
results," said Reno Air President and CEO Robert Reding. "It is exciting to
see the significant load factor improvement following our summer schedule
change which includes new non-stop service and additional frequencies from our
newly expanded Las Vegas hub to Albuquerque, Los Angeles, San Diego, Colorado
Springs, Tucson, San Jose and Reno/Tahoe."
