announced that a letter of intent has been signed to develop a strategic
alliance to make competitive term life insurance available to bank customers.
As a result of this partnership, Banc One Insurance Services Corporation
will be able to help make available to Banc One customers competitive term
life insurance via its new service, The One(R) Quote(SM). Banc One will begin
marketing The One Quote service to current customers via inserts into personal
checking account statements. Customers will be directed to licensed agents of
The One Quote service by either calling a toll-free number or accessing the
service via the Internet to receive quotes on term life insurance.
The service was designed to be easily accessible to customers. Insurance
premiums can be conveniently deducted from customers' checking accounts. It is
expected that The One Quote service will eventually be made available to
non-Banc One customers as well. "The concept of accessible, convenient,
competitive term life insurance is considered a great fit into Banc One's
newly developed brand identity, Bank One to One, which focuses on meeting the
financial needs of current and new customers at the customers' convenience,"
