    PLYMOUTH, Mich., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Simpson Industries, Inc.
(Nasdaq: SMPS) announces that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly
dividend in the amount of $.10 per share.  The dividend is payable
September 25, 1997 to shareholders of record on September 4, 1997.
