        yall.com Serves King-Size Heaping of Elvis-Related Activities
As 20th Anniversary of The King's Death Nears

ATLANTA, Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The King is gone, but he's not forgotten.
On Aug. 11 yall.com, the homepage of the South, will kick off a weeklong
online All-Star Elvis Extravaganza to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the
death of The King of Rock and Roll. It's a week filled with new, fun online
events every day, the chance to rouse and meet the spirit of Elvis, and the
opportunity to win prizes.
Don't worry about going to Memphis to pay your respects. Anyone with an
Internet connection can hook up to the spirit of Elvis past, present and
future. Head to yall.com to place an offering at an online shrine or swap
your favorite Elvis sighting with other fans. You can also send online
postcards to friends, try out Presley's favorite recipes and restaurants, and
find out how his music has affected current musicians like Peter Holsapple and
Michelle Malone. Don't miss the online trivia contest, with daily and weekly
prizes, including a coveted CD box set of early Sun Studio recordings.
yall.com also salutes the survivors of the golden age of rockabilly with a
review of the book "That's Alright, Elvis" by one-time Elvis guitarist Scotty
Moore and clips from his latest album with DJ Fontana, "All the King's Men."
Those who prefer their Elvis with a twist will want to tune in to
yall.com's chat room on Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 6:30 p.m., to meet El Vez, the
Latin Elvis who performs hits like "You Ain't Nothing But a Chihuahua," and
Vernon Chadwick, founder of the International Elvis Conference.
Fans can also find out who is keeping the spirit alive as the president of
the Elvis Presley Impersonator Association dishes up the inside scoop on
up-and-coming impersonators.
"If your taste in Elvis is even more offbeat, yall.com will celebrate 'the
campier side of Elvisiana' with a multimedia nod to some favorite far out
Elvis impersonators, including Elvis Herselvis, the Lesbian Elvis; El Vez; and
RenElvis, the Filipino Elvis," yall.com Senior Producer Matt Konigsmark said.
yall.com will cap the week with an online seance to conjure up the spirit
of The King. On Friday, Aug. 15, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., Atlanta clairvoyant
Caleb Storms, a certified spiritualist, will seek to raise the spirit of Elvis
from the dead. One thing's for sure: whether or not Elvis himself shows up,
yall.com's All-Star Elvis Extravaganza promises to leave a little bit of his
spirit with all of us.
yall.com is a specialty niche Web site created by Atlanta-based Cox
Interactive Media as the "South's Alternative Multimedia Webzine," offering
the 22-34 age group a cross between a Southern gothic novel, Bikini magazine,
National Lampoon and the Dukes of Hazzard.
