NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- ARCO Chemical Company
(NYSE: RCM) has announced the election of Stephen R. Mut to its Board of
Directors. Mut was elected to the Board effective January 1, 1997.
Mut, 45, is a Senior Vice President of ARCO (Atlantic Richfield Company)
and in August was appointed President of ARCO Global Energy Ventures, an
organization engaged in developing energy-related business opportunities for
ARCO. Since joining ARCO in 1974, Mut served with ARCO International Oil and
Gas Company as Managing Director of ARCO British Ltd. and Senior Vice
President, Operations for Australia, Asia and the Americas. Most recently,
Mut had been President of ARCO Coal Company.
Mut serves on the Board of the National Mining Association, American
Mining Congress, National Coal Association, Western Regional Council and the
World Coal Institute. He also serves on the Society of Petroleum Engineers
Program Committee.
A resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, California, Mut is a graduate of Rice
University with a BA and MS degree in Environmental Engineering.
