going through an intensive audit, Fairbanks Morse Pump, Kansas City, KS a
division of General Signal Pump Group (NYSE: GSX), a unit of General Signal
was recommended for ISO 9001 Certification. The Certification Council of AGA
Quality Registrars, a division of International Approval Services, approved
the Certification recommendation on February 11, 1997. A formal presentation
of the plaque and certificate took place early this year with a celebration by
Fairbanks Morse Pump employees.
Customers can expect several benefits from the ISO 9001 Certification,
including: the ability to ship internationally to those customers requesting
or requiring certification, increased productivity with reduced scrap and
rework, increased customer satisfaction, and the continual maintenance of the
quality system.
Kansas City joins five other General Signal Pump Group facilities with ISO
9001 Certification
Aurora/Hydromatic Pumps, Inc. was the first of the General Signal Pump
Group divisions to receive ISO 9001 certification on February 18, 1994
(includes Ashland, OH. and Mississauga, ON, Canada facilities). Aurora Pump
was ISO 9001 certified November 17, 1994 (includes North Aurora, IL.,
Aurora, IL., and Rancho Cucamonga, CA facilities).
