COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Kenneth T. Stevens, Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer of the Banc One Retail Group, has announced that
Thomas H. Cartwright has been named to head up Community Markets within the
Banc One Retail Group.
In commenting on this newly created position, Stevens said, "Our Community
Markets are vital to the success of Banc One. They represent a significant
portion of our consumer and business banking customers. Cartwright's
appointment will help us to focus on the strategic issues and opportunities
facing Banc One in these important markets."
Cartwright had been responsible for Community Markets in Banc One's
Midwest Region for the past year. He had been Vice President, Chief Financial
Officer and Secretary of Banc One Illinois Corporation since 1992. Prior to
that, he served as Senior Vice President of Marine Bank, which is now a Banc
One affiliate. Cartwright holds two degrees in finance from the University of
Illinois and is a graduate of the School of Retail Bank Management at the
University of Virginia.
