HOUSTON, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Eagle USA Airfreight, Inc.
(Nasdaq: EUSA) today announced that Donald P. Roberts has resigned his
position as Chief Marketing Officer. He will continue as a member of the
Board of Directors and for a period of two years beginning October 1, 1997,
will assist the Company on a consulting basis. Roberts joined the Company in
1985 and has served as Chief Marketing Officer since 1994 and has served as a
Director of the Company since May 1995.
In the very near term, the Company plans to internally promote two of its
top level regional marketing professionals to assume the responsibilities of
the Chief Marketing Officer position. James R. Crane, Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer, said, "Donnie has been a great asset to Eagle USA since
joining the Company in 1985 and his daily contribution will be missed. He
will continue to work closely with the two new marketing vice presidents to
ensure a seamless transition, enabling the Company to continue its progress
