Wells Fargo Alarm Services Introduces SecurVision

CHICAGO, Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Wells Fargo Alarm Services today
announced a revolutionary security solution -- SecurVision(R), a video
recognition system that distinguishes human intruders from other
non-threatening movement. Developed jointly by Wells Fargo Alarm and Comtrak,
a designer of target acquisition systems for the military, SecurVision will be
introduced at the 1997 American Society for Industrial Security meeting
September 8-10, 1997 in St. Louis, MO.
SecurVision screens out false alarms and captures human intrusions using
existing full resolution video. Confirmed intrusions are then encrypted and
transmitted as live video, audio and full resolution snapshots to a control
center for evaluation and response. SecurVision has been fully integrated
with electronic alarm data on the work stations at both Wells Fargo Alarm
central stations and proprietary control centers.
Through the use of sophisticated neural net technology, SecurVision offers
precise object detection, recognition and evaluation. SecurVision is targeted
at reducing the growing cost and frequency of false alarms throughout the
nation. This technologically superior product can substantially reduce
manpower requirements by eliminating the need for real-time CCTV monitoring
and reduce time spent on tape management and review. Positive intruder
recognition will increase assurance of immediate and committed police and
private security response.
Headquartered in King of Prussia, PA, Wells Fargo Alarm Services is a
leading full-service provider of electronic security systems and monitoring
services to financial institutions, commercial businesses, government
installations and residences nationwide. The company is a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Borg-Warner Security Corporation (NYSE: BOR), the nation's
largest provider of security services.
