AvalonBay Communities Announces Its Fourth Quarter 2001 Earnings Release And Conference Call Date

(NYSE: AVB; PCX) announced today that it will release fourth quarter 2001
earnings on January 22, 2002 after the market closes, and hold its fourth
quarter conference call on January 23, 2002 at 11:00 AM Eastern Time.  The
