AMLI Residential Details 2002 Dividends Paid

    CHICAGO, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AMLI Residential Properties
Trust (NYSE: AML) announces its 2002 dividend distributions on its common
shares will represent approximately 68.2% long-term capital gain and 31.8%
ordinary income.

apportioned alternative minimum tax adjustment and preference items to its
shareholders in an amount equal to 4.323562% of the total dividend
distributed.  Individual taxpayers should report this amount on Form 6251,
line 17 - Depreciation on assets placed in service after 1986.  The company
incurred no foreign taxes.
