AG Communication Systems Enters Into Reseller Agreement With LG CNS

LG CNS to Resell Lucent Subsidiary's SuperLine Integrated Access Solution
                     Within Asia and Middle-East Regions

PHOENIX, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- AG Communication Systems (AGCS),
subsidiary of Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU), today announced a reseller
partnership with Korean manufacturer LG CNS. Under terms of the agreement, LG
CNS will be licensed to sell AGCS's SuperLine(TM) integrated access product
within its Asia and Middle East territories. LG will become the primary sales
and marketing channel for the SuperLine(TM) system and leverage the company's
existing sales resources and customer relationships to distribute the product
into these markets.
Called the SuperLine(TM) Access System, this solution enables service
providers to deliver up two additional phone lines to residential and small
office/home office (SOHO) customers over the same copper wire used today for
their existing phone service. Based on the agreement with AGCS, The
SuperLine Access System consists of the SuperLine Access Shelf, which resides
in a service provider's central office or beside a remote digital loop
carrier, and the SuperLine Adapter, a piece of equipment similar in size to a
modem, located in a customer's home or office.
SuperLine can create up to two additional phone lines using the bandwidth
that exists on a copper wire without interfering with the existing phone
service. The added lines have their own directory numbers and can be used for
Internet/modem access, fax machines or as a separate business line in a home
office or as a teen line. This enables service providers to address the demand
from residential and SOHO users who want additional lines without having to
incur the cost of installing new copper wires or equipment in a customer's
home or office.
In addition, the bandwidth that delivers the additional phone lines also
can be used to deliver Ethernet data transmissions at a higher speed than
standard analog modems.
"We look forward to the opportunities afforded by our new partnership with
AG Communication Systems," said Mr. Lee, Kyeng Soo, Vice President of LG CNS.
"As a total IT services provider to the Asia and Middle East markets, LG CNS
can leverage its longstanding expertise and experience to penetrate these
regions deeply on behalf of SuperLine. We are confident both companies will
experience long-term benefits as a result."
"By leveraging LG's sales and marketing strengths behind the SuperLine
system in these regions, we can broaden our market access there
exponentially," said Dan Melsek, Vice President of AGCS Network Services, the
group that brokered the agreement. "We're pleased to be in this partnership
with LG since we know the company's superior technical distribution and
customer relationships will no doubt have a fundamentally positive impact on
our sales."
