AG Communication Systems, TELUS Communications Announce microCallCentre General Availability

               microCallCentre (mCC) Transforms Centrex Systems
                       Into Sophisticated Call Centers

PHOENIX, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- AG Communication Systems, a subsidiary of
Lucent Technologies, and Burnaby, B.C.-based TELUS Communications today
announced the general availability of microCallCentre (mCC) a
jointly-developed, subscription-based service that offers Centrex Automated
Call Distribution (ACD) functionality to small and medium-size businesses in
Canada. The product is sold in the United States under the brand name of
iCallCenter SE.
Designed specifically for Centrex telephone systems, microCallCentre
economically transforms Centrex systems into sophisticated call centers. It
allows Centrex subscribers to provide their customers with improved customer
service, call-handling capabilities and productivity without the expense of
installing customer premises equipment. microCallCentre is an intelligent
peripheral platform that does not depend on switch function for ACD
applications. Such functionality allows for ACD agents to be in multiple
locations, even if they are served by a different telephone exchange.
"With microCallCentre, no business is too small to afford, administer, and
effectively use call center technology," noted Ken Arndt, vice president of
marketing for AG Communication Systems.
"Our collaboration with TELUS provides any business with call center
capabilities for routing and queuing of inbound calls, access to customizable
voice announcements, and productivity reports -- all with the flexibility and
convenience of TELUS' Centrex service."
"TELUS is pleased to partner with AG Communication Systems to provide our
customers with cutting-edge services that enhance business productivity," said
Susan Ferguson, Business Manager - Centrex Marketing of TELUS. "With
microCallCentre, businesses of any size can benefit: small businesses looking
to improve customer service, large businesses with work groups that need to
improve their handling of inbound calls, and any company looking for a way to
meet short-term or seasonal inbound calling needs."
