LOS ANGELES, CT Expo, Booth 2001, March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Lucent
Technologies announced today that it is bringing together a group of leading
vendors of voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP) endpoints to participate in its
live iMerge Interoperability Demonstration at CT Expo 2001, March 6-8, in Los
Angeles.
Lucent's iMerge(TM) Centrex Feature Gateway (CFG) is available today. It
extends office Centrex features over packet networks, giving users the
ultimate VoIP service.
The iMerge Interoperability Demonstration at CT Expo will show how
Lucent's iMerge CFG offers more value to customers by being easier to deploy
and manage and because it works with one of the largest and most diverse
selections of VoIP endpoints in the industry.
The companies and products to be showcased at the iMerge Interoperability
Demonstration are CallComm Technologies (PC softphone), e-tel corporation
(IP phone), Nx Networks (IP telephony gateway), Quicknet Technologies
(hardware-accelerated softphone), UniData Communication Systems (IP phone) and
WellTech Computer Co. (IP telephony gateway).
"Business customers demand mobility, efficient remote access to their
offices and easier ways to change locations and move services," said Ken
Arndt, vice president of marketing for AG Communications Systems, a subsidiary
of Lucent Technologies. "What's more, customers want the hundreds of common
business communications tools they are familiar with to be delivered in a more
cost-effective way. iMerge does just that. It combines the inherent
reliability of the public switched telephone network with the cost-saving
advantages of the packet network in a way that makes employees more effective
and enterprises more competitive."
