Camden Property Trust is Premier Underwriter for Relay for Life Event In Houston

Annual Signature American Cancer Society Event Raises Funds to Help Fight
                                    Cancer

HOUSTON, April 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Camden Property Trust (NYSE: CPT) is the
Premier Underwriter for Houston's Relay for Life, the American Cancer
Society's national signature fundraiser. The Relay For Life is a 24-hour
relay held at locations across the country, where thousands of people run,
walk and even in-line skate all day and night to help fight cancer. This
year's event, which is being held at Rice University's West Stadium Lot,
starts Friday, April 14th at 6:00 p.m. and runs through Saturday, April 15th
at 12:00 p.m.
Relay For Life invites teams of families, friends and co-workers to join
together nationwide to collect donations for the relay. To keep bodies moving
and spirits high, these fun-filled festivals offer activities such as tent
decorating contests, games and massages. Live music, food and fashion shows
also add to the excitement.
Brenda Robbins, Houston's Co-Chair for 2000 and a Camden Relay Team
Member, said, "Relay For Life gives friends and co-workers -- many of whose
lives have been affected by cancer -- the opportunity to join forces in the
true spirit of camaraderie in the fight against cancer. Participants have fun
getting to know each other better, while raising money for a good cause. We
are especially thankful for the support and funds donated by Camden again this
year." Camden was also the Premier Underwriter for the event in 1998 and
1999.
The first Relay For Life had one participant -- Dr. Gordon Klatt, who hit
the ground running as an American Cancer Society volunteer in 1985. He ran
for 24 hours, covered 81 miles and raised $27,000 in sponsored donations for
ACS. Since Dr. Klatt's one-man marathon, thousands of people nationwide have
passed the "baton" and raised millions of dollars for Relay For Life's battle
against cancer.
