Officer and President Lawrence Small, senior-level executives,
150 employees of both companies and representatives of the
Germantown Boys & Girls Club.
What: Project Side-by-Side is a volunteer renovation and
beautification project of the Germantown Boys & Girls Club
which is home to after-school and other non-school activities,
including tutoring, mentoring, sports, arts, etc. for the
children of the Germantown section of Philadelphia.

When: Thursday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; O'Brien and Small to
speak to volunteers at 9 a.m.
Details: Although volunteer efforts from the Presidents' Summit for
America's Future assisted in much-needed repairs to the
facility, the century-old building and surrounding grounds is
still in need of constant maintenance.
Company presidents and senior-level executives volunteer their
time during regular business hours to work side-by-side
employees to renovate the Germantown Boys & Girls Club.
Outside projects include cleaning an adjacent park littered
with debris and overgrown weeds, planting low-maintenance
flowers and shrubs, and repairing dilapidated park benches.
Inside projects include repairing the two-story railing in the
main stairway; applying a fresh coat of paint in the stairway,
art room and library; repairing screens; cleaning throughout
the building and discarding unusable items. A colorful mural
will be painted by professional artists in the preschool room.
