NEWARK, Calif., July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Ross Stores, Inc. (Nasdaq: ROST)
announced today that Richard White, 43, has been named as its
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Mr. White will report
directly to Jim Peters, the company's President and Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to joining Ross Stores, Mr. White served as President of Matthews,
White & Company, which specializes in general management and strategy
consulting to start-up companies as well as established enterprises.
Mr. White was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Intrepid Systems from
1991 until 1998 when they were acquired by PeopleSoft, where he served as
Vice President of Business Development for Retail until 1999.
Intrepid Systems developed, marketed and supported enterprise-wide
applications for medium to large size retail organizations. Before founding
Intrepid Systems, Mr. White was the Chief Information Officer of Office Club
for five years, after spending four years as a consultant for
Deloitte & Touche. Mr. White has both B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from
Stanford University.
