HOUSTON, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation (NYSE: COG) today announced that C. Wayne Nance has rejoined the Company's Board of Directors. Nance resigned from the Cabot Board in March to focus his attention on the sale of Matador Petroleum, in which he was a significant shareholder and where he also served as a director. "With the completion of Matador's sale to Tom Brown, Inc., the Board approached Wayne about returning to the Cabot Board," said Dan O. Dinges, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer. "Wayne's breadth of industry experience and his 11-year affiliation with the Company provide Cabot with another strong Board member." Nance's return is effective immediately and he will serve a term which runs until his original date for retirement, under the Board's mandatory retirement policy, at the 2005 annual meeting.
