Industar Digital PCS Signs Agreement with AG Communication Systems to Offer ROAMEO Wireless Office Telephone System

PHOENIX, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- AG Communication Systems, a subsidiary of
Lucent Technologies, and Milwaukee-based Industar Digital PCS (Industar) have
signed an agreement that will enable Industar to offer the ROAMEO(R) wireless
office phone system to its business customers.
Industar Digital PCS differentiates itself in the marketplace with its
focus on providing wireless services and products to help businesses improve
their bottom line. As a reseller partner for ROAMEO, Industar will offer a
market-ready wireless office or factory system in Wisconsin. Industar will
also offer their customers digital wireless phones and wireless service for
both in-building coverage and out-building coverage across North America.
AG Communication Systems' ROAMEO connects to any PBX, Centrex or key phone
system and allows a standard TDMA digital wireless phone to act as a cordless
extension of subscribers' desk phones. The system supports up to 2,000 users
with the ability to make and receive calls and utilize all the features of
their office phones (such as call forwarding, call waiting, and three-way
conference calling) with a wireless phone anywhere in a building or campus
environment.
Calls within range of the system incur no per-minute airtime charges.
Subscribers can use the same handset in the external wireless environment,
giving them "one-number-reaches-you-anywhere" convenience. The mobility of
the system will give employers the benefit of increased productivity and cost
efficiency over a period of time.
Industar and AG Communication Systems will promote ROAMEO in the
seven-county market that Industar serves in Milwaukee, Racine, Washington,
Ozaukee, Waukesha, Dodge and Jefferson counties. In this joint marketing
relationship, AG Communication Systems will provide turnkey installation and
maintenance support for Industar's customers. Industar will continue to be
the customers' single point of contact for this product as well as all other
wireless products that Industar provides.
Industar is the first independent C Block wireless carrier in the United
States to offer service using the TDMA platform, and now is the first to offer
the digital wireless office system. The C Block is a slice of the radio
spectrum set aside by the Federal Communications Commission for small
companies.
"The wireless office system from AG Communication Systems is the perfect
product offering to help Wisconsin industries improve their profitability,
with four-digit dialing and the ability to use one phone, one number --
anywhere, anytime," said Kailas Rao, Chairman and President of Industar
Digital PCS. "The ROAMEO digital system is the first to pass the critical
testing standards of AT&T and we are excited to be the first to bring this
technology to our customers."
"We are pleased to partner with Industar to offer an in-building wireless
solution that will allow customers to be more productive and competitive,"
said Charles Schulz, Vice President and General Manager of Wireless products
for AG Communication Systems. "With ROAMEO, subscribers can be reached with
one number and one handset, making it easy for them to always stay in touch."
