Two New Directors Elected to Beacon Properties Board

    BOSTON, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ --  Beacon Properties Corporation (NYSE: BCN)
today announced the election of Lionel P. Fortin and Dale F. Frey to the
company's board of directors.  The election of Fortin and Frey to Beacon's
board of directors brings the number of board members to nine.  Fortin, chief
operating officer of Beacon, was also appointed executive vice president of
the company.
    Frey, a vice president and former treasurer of General Electric Company,
is the chairman of the board and president of General Electric Investment
Corporation, Stamford, Connecticut, a position he has held since 1984.  He is
a member of the boards of directors of General Electric Financial Services,
Inc.; General Electric Capital Corporation; Rhone-Poulenc Rorer; USF&G
Corporation; Praxair, Inc.; Doubletree Hotels Corporation; The Cancer Research
Fund of the Damon Runyon-Walter Winchell Foundation; and is a Trustee of
Franklin and Marshall College.
    Frey is also a member of the advisory committees of Forstmann Little &
Company; Warburg Pincus and the New York State Common Retirement Fund; and a
member of the Financial Executives Institute.  A graduate of Franklin and
Marshall College, he received an M.B.A. in Economics and Accounting from New
York University.
    Fortin, who joined Beacon in 1973, served as senior vice president and
chief financial officer of the company from May 1994 through February 1995
when he was appointed chief operating officer.  Prior to Beacon, Fortin was an
audit supervisor with Laventhol & Horwath.  He graduated from Bentley College
and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and
the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.
