    BOSTON, Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Cathy A. Lickteig has been appointed vice
president, corporate communications, at Beacon Properties Corporation
(NYSE: BCN) of Boston, Massachusetts, a leading real estate investment trust
specializing in office properties.
    Lickteig was previously vice president and director, corporate public
affairs, at The Rouse Company (NYSE: RSE), Columbia, Maryland.
    At Beacon, Lickteig will develop and supervise the company's national and
regional communications programs, including advertising, marketing, media
relations and public relations.  Since its IPO in 1994, Beacon has grown
rapidly and assembled a national portfolio of 118 office buildings in six
major markets: Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angles, San Francisco and
Washington DC.

    Prior to The Rouse Company, Lickteig was assistant vice president,
corporate communications, for National Railroad Passenger Corporation
(Amtrak), Washington, D.C., the intercity rail service established by Congress
in 1971, and was co-creator, producer and on-air director of the award-winning
National Public Radio magazine "All Things Considered."
    Lickteig served for seven years as a member of the Howard County General
Hospital Board of Trustees, Columbia, Maryland, the governing board of the
hospital.  She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1968 with a
B.A. in Journalism and Speech, and in 1970-71 completed graduate studies in
Communications at New York University.
