BASKING RIDGE, N.J., LOS ANGELES, and LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ --
From 2008 International CES, Verizon Wireless, the leading wireless company
with the nation's most reliable wireless voice and data network, and Fox
Soccer Channel today announced they are delivering video highlight content
from England's Barclays Premier League to V CAST Video-enabled phones. The
relationship makes Verizon Wireless the first wireless distributor of Fox
Soccer Channel's exclusive Barclays Premier League mobile highlight
package, delivering more than 35 video clips per week -- including
near-live, in-game coverage -- to V CAST Video customers from
coast-to-coast.
"We are delighted to partner with Verizon Wireless to provide fans with
in-game mobile video content featuring their favorite Barclays Premier
League teams," said David Sternberg, executive vice president and general
manager of Fox Soccer Channel. "This agreement underscores both the growing
popularity of the Barclays Premier League stateside, and the ability of
Verizon Wireless to deliver a breadth of high-quality video content to its
V CAST customers."
"Verizon Wireless customers want to stay up-to-date and informed while
on-the-go. Video from Fox Soccer Channel helps V CAST Video customers catch
every goal when they are on the move," said Ryan Hughes, vice president of
digital programming for Verizon.
Customers with select V CAST-enabled phones can check out V CAST
whenever they want for just $3.00 for 24-hour use or by signing up for the
$15.00 V CAST VPak monthly subscription, which also includes access to
Verizon Wireless' ESPN MVP, Get It Now(R) and Mobile Web 2.0(SM) services.
Customers get unlimited basic video -- including video from Fox Soccer
Channel -- but application download fees apply for 3D games and premium
video. There are no airtime or megabyte charges to download, stream or
watch V CAST content with any V CAST subscription.
