Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the City of New
Orleans was able to streamline business processes for grant applications
and contract management from 45 days to 10 days and 90 days to 10 days,
respectively. And all of this with a very small IT staff, which was made
even smaller due to the exodus of 80 percent of New Orleans' population
from the city.
Jones and Talley will discuss how the City used technology and a
concept called business process management to revolutionize IT and the
delivery of city services in the wake of the hurricane.
Jones and Talley will be speaking about lessons learned from Katrina on
Thursday, April 17th at 10:15 a.m. at the CIMA event. For more information,
