Digital Refrigerator of Tomorrow Brings Benefits of Design, Entertainment,
Practicality to Today's Kitchens
CHICAGO, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Electronics makes kitchens more
innovative, stylish and family-friendly with the introduction of the next
generation of its popular TV Refrigerator. In addition to its remote-
controlled, cable-ready, 15-inch LCD television screen on the right door,
the sleek side-by-side LG TV Refrigerator now includes a four-inch
WeatherPlus(TM) LCD display located above the dispenser that includes
weather forecasts, a digital photo album, recipe bank and more.
"As the major appliance industry's leader in digital convergence, LG
Electronics is constantly seeking out ways in which we can create
innovative products that can help to improve the quality of consumers'
every day lives -- especially in the kitchen," said Soon Kwon, president of
Digital Appliances for LG Electronics USA, Inc., here today at the 2006
Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (Booth #7516, North Hall). "The next generation
LG TV Refrigerator, one of our key flagship products, accomplishes this
goal. In fact, we've even taken it a step further. With this latest
innovation, consumers will receive personalized weather reports for their
area, in real time. There is nothing available like this on the market
today."
The next generation LG TV Refrigerator will dazzle consumers who are
seeking premium, technologically advanced appliances for their homes. The
WeatherPlus display houses an information center with features that include
personalized weather forecasts based on a consumer's given area, date/time,
calendar with alarm, eight-category recipe bank with 100 pre-loaded
recipes, and a personal digital photo album. The personal photo album can
be uploaded via a USB port in the dispenser area. A child lock function,
room temperature display, digital user manual, product controls and
warnings are also part of the complete package. The right side features a
15-inch standard definition, cable-ready LCD TV with DVD connection and FM
radio for hours of kitchen entertainment.
The LG TV Refrigerator line also incorporates LG's new SpacePlus(TM)
Ice Making system, which makes ice directly on the door, as opposed to on
the top of the freezer section. This helps to free up valuable storage
capacity within the freezer compartment, while still delivering the
convenience of an in-door ice dispenser. For added convenience, the
icemaker also features a custom cube option and a removable bin to make
serving a breeze. This new system is also available in other select LG
side-by-side refrigerator models.
The next-generation LG TV Refrigerator also boasts other convenient
features including:
-- IcePlus(TM) system - makes ice faster, delivering added convenience
-- Digital temperature sensor controls
-- OptiFresh(TM) crisper - keeps produce fresher, longer by using an
indirect cooling system that prevents dehydration, freezing, or
frosting; a sensor keeps the temperature at 34 degrees Fahrenheit
(+/- 1 degree) to preserve food quality
-- SmoothTouch Controls
-- BioShield(TM) anti-bacterial gasket - prevents mold and mildew from
forming on the door seal
-- Icy Water Reservoir
-- CustomCube(TM) Ice Maker - automatic ice maker provides a choice of
three cube sizes
-- Grab n' Go(TM) door basket, wine rack, tilting door bins, glass and
sliding shelves
-- Built-in look with hidden hinges and contoured door design
The new, next generation LG TV Refrigerator recently captured industry
recognition and accolades including the 2006 CES "Innovation Award for
Design and Engineering" as the best new product in the appliance category.
The LG TV Refrigerator, model LSC27990TT, will be available Q2 2006 in a
titanium finish at a manufacturer's suggested retail price ranging from
$3,499 to $3,699.
Product specifications and pricing are subject to change.
