ATLANTA, April 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T)
announced a significantly enhanced LaptopConnect portfolio as the company
launched today the Option GT Max 3.6 Express ExpressCard; and in early May
the Sierra Wireless AirCard(R) 875U mobile broadband device for USB ports.
Both devices are powered by AT&T's 3G BroadbandConnect service, giving
customers the perfect mix of performance and coverage in new device designs
that are slim and stylish.
The Option GT Max 3.6 Express and Sierra Wireless AirCard 875U provide
notebook owners with the latest advanced data technology so that they can
stay connected whether traveling across town, the U.S. or the world. The
Option and Sierra Wireless devices can be used in conjunction with AT&T
BroadbandConnect in more than 165 major markets -- where users can download
a 1 megabyte file in about 15 seconds on average -- and outside 3G-coverage
areas on AT&T's nationwide* EDGE high speed wireless data network. In
addition, both devices can be used in 125 countries, where AT&T has
international data-roaming agreements, and are the only single-device,
single- rate-plan and global 3G solution offered by a U.S. wireless carrier
for their device types.

The Option GT Max 3.6 Express has been designed to work in newer
notebooks with ExpressCard slots, and it features a flip-up antenna and
Advanced Receiver Technology for improved 3G performance. The GT Max 3.6
Express is compatible in notebooks with ExpressCard/34 and ExpressCard/54
slots and supports Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP, 2000 and Vista.
The Sierra Wireless AirCard 875U mobile broadband device is an
easy-to-use mobile broadband device and plugs directly into the standard
USB port in notebooks. A simple, four-step setup process means that
customers will be up- and-running in minutes. The AirCard 875U features an
integrated battery to ensure optimal performance, and it supports Microsoft
Windows XP, 2000 and Vista. Customers will also be able to download an
Apple Mac client at no charge from the Sierra Wireless Web site (
http://www.sierrawireless.com/mac ).
The Option GT Max 3.6 Express is on sale today, and the Sierra Wireless
AirCard 875U device will be available on May 7 in former Cingular Wireless
retail stores (now AT&T), online at http://www.cingular.com , and through
AT&T's wireless business-to-business sales organization and select national
retailers. Both are available for as low as $49.99 with a two-year contract
and mail-in rebate.
AT&T's unlimited DataConnect rate plan is available for $59.99 for
customers with a two-year contract and qualifying AT&T wireless voice plan.
AT&T's DataConnect North American plan of 100 megabytes for $109 a month
provides for usage in select Canada and Mexico roam zones. DataConnect
Global plan of 100 megabytes for $139 a month covers data usage in select
roam zones in more than two dozen countries including many European
countries, India, China and Japan. Both plans also include unlimited
domestic data usage.
