Media Mogul Merv Griffin Debuts on the World's Largest Electronic Retailer
WEST CHESTER, Pa., May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Legendary entertainer Merv
Griffin is scheduled to make his QVC(R) debut on Thursday, May 4, 2006 in
two shows on the leading electronic retailer. First, Griffin is slated to
appear on "The QVC Morning Show" broadcast from 7 AM - 9 AM (ET) and again
in the "Classic TV and Movies" broadcast from 8 PM - 9 PM (ET) to offer
"The Merv Griffin Show Special Edition Three DVD Box Set."
Griffin's history is long and accomplished. From his beginning days as
the singer of the chart-topping "I've Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts" in
the 1950s to his hosting gigs on the "CBS Morning Show" and as a regular
substitute for Jack Parr on "The Tonight Show," Griffin has been a central
part of America's culture.
Continuing through the decades, Griffin has been noted as creator of
the two most successful game shows in television syndication history,
"Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!", and as a real estate and hotel tycoon.
But he is perhaps most known and beloved as creator and host of "The Merv
Griffin Show," for which he earned 15 Emmys and interviewed over 25,000
guests during its 23- year run. Griffin has since earned two additional
Emmys, one for Lifetime Achievement.
"The Merv Griffin Show Special Edition Three DVD Box Set" (QVC Item
#E00962) features historic dialogue with many legends including: Orson
Welles, Tom Hanks, John Wayne, Walter Cronkite, Dr. Martin Luther King,
Jr., Robert F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Jerry Seinfeld.
The set includes three DVDs: "Greatest Hollywood Legends," "Greatest
Comedians" and "Extraordinary Guests."
