Designing Equipment for the World's Emerging Next-Generation Networks
SAN FRANCISCO, May 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CMP Media's EE Times
announced today the launch of the Network Systems DesignLine Web site
(http://www.NetworkSystemsDesignLine.com). This completely new site will provide
design engineers and engineering managers with the technical, how-to
information they need to accelerate and advance the design and development of
networking equipment, while also keeping designers abreast of the latest
design challenges and trends in emerging sectors.
"Although the market for network systems equipment is blossoming again,
the people charged with designing equipment for next-generation networks face
significant challenges in the days ahead," said Annie Lindstrom, site editor
for Network Systems DesignLine. "The equipment they design must be
increasingly more reliable and robust, and it must meet ever declining cost
points. As I gather stories and resources for Network Systems DesignLine, I
will be looking for items that provide our readers with all the help they need
to meet the challenges they face as they design tomorrow's networks."
Network Systems DesignLine is the online design resource that delivers
practical, how-to design information, technical and standards-related
resources, new product announcements and reviews, expert advice and topical
forums on:
-- Ethernet Design
-- Enterprise Networking
-- IP Networking
-- Last Mile/Broadband Access
-- Metro/Edge Networking
The site is dedicated to helping engineers accelerate the design and
development of networking systems and equipment by delivering a broad array of
resources, from designing Voice over IP systems to updates on standards
efforts being launched by the International Engineering Task Force. The site
will also take a close look at the standards efforts in organizations such as
the International Engineering Task Force (IETF) that shape the development of
networking systems and equipment.
Site Editor Annie Lindstrom has been writing about telecommunications
industry technology, standards, regulation and marketing for 16 years. She
specializes in fiber optics, network access and wireless technologies. Annie
is returning to CMP to run the Network Systems DesignLine. In the mid-90's,
she was an editor for CMP's Communications Week Magazine. After that, she
worked as a media relations manager for Bellcore (now Telcorida) and then as a
senior technology editor for America's Network Magazine, where she won the
prestigious President's Award for her contributions to the magazine. In 2000,
Annie founded KittyHawk Communications Inc. and began working as a full-time
freelance writer from her home office in New York City. She relocated to Cape
Coral, Florida, in 2001.
Network Systems DesignLine is CMP Media's sixth in a series of vertically
micro-segmented Web sites for design engineers involved in designing
electronic systems. CMP's Electronics Group has a high degree of expertise in
the networking systems design area. In addition to Annie Lindstrom's broad
knowledge of this sector, CMP's Robert Keenan, Loring Wirbel, John Walko, and
Rick Merritt are distinguished editors in the space. In addition, the site
has access to a deep library of how-to technical articles, product
information, and news content through CommsDesign.com.
