announce the availability of the low voltage 50W version of Quad-Core
Intel(R) Xeon(R) Processor 5300 Series on its NextDimension family of
portable computers. The company will be demonstrating the NextDimension Evo
HD, featuring 8 processor cores, at Interop Las Vegas 2007, booth 169 in
the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada.
NextComputing's NextDimension Pro and Evo models combined with the
Quad-Core Intel(R) Xeon(R) Processor 5300 Series are the perfect technology
combination allowing you to do more with less. Up to 8 cores are available
in the briefcase-sized supercomputer, making it the first portable computer
or open standards appliance to have this capability.
At only 50W per processor (12.5W per core), Intel has improved the
power efficiency by nearly 10 times over its previous single core Intel
Xeon processor-based servers in the market last year. These new 50W
Quad-Core products offer users 35% less processor power consumption at the
same performance level as the mainstream 80W Quad-Core versions. These
capabilities add up to higher performance per watt and better energy
efficiency, making these processors ideal for highly dense, power sensitive
platforms like the NextDimension series of flextops
