Prestigious Honor Recognizes Minnesota-Based Firms for
Excellence, Innovation and Growth in Global Commerce
MINNEAPOLIS, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Bloomington, Minn.-based Katun
Corporation, the world's leading supplier of OEM-compatible supplies and parts
to the office equipment industry, today was named the recipient of the 2005
Minnesota Governor's International Trade Award for large companies.

The announcement was made today at the annual Minnesota World Trade Week
Luncheon in Minneapolis, where Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty presented the
award to Katun President and CEO Dan Olszewski.
Governor Pawlenty described Katun as "a tremendous international
competitor that ranks among the world's best in its industry -- admired here
at home and envied worldwide for its success." He also commended Katun for
having the foresight to look beyond the domestic market for sales growth,
saying, "In a global economy, creating and preserving good jobs here at home
increasingly means finding new customers in the international marketplace."
Presented annually, the Governor's International Trade Award honors
Minnesota companies, organizations or individuals that have excelled in the
international marketplace. Katun, founded in 1979, derives more than half of
its more than $350 million in revenues from international sales -- building,
distributing, promoting and selling its products in every corner of the globe
and trading in nine different currencies.
The Governor's International Trade Award is coordinated annually by the
Minnesota Trade Office, a division of the Minnesota Department of Employment
and Economic Development.
"This year, we at Katun celebrate our 26th anniversary as a Minnesota
company serving the world," said Dan Olszewski, president and CEO. "As we
continue to expand our international operations, I'm pleased to share this
honor with our fine employees who make it all possible. We're grateful to
Governor Pawlenty and to the Minnesota Trade Office for this recognition, and
we're especially proud to call Minnesota our home."
