PARIS, May 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
- Placed in the 12V Accessory Plug, the Parrot PMK5800 Uses a FM Radio
Frequency to Transfer Voice and Music Directly on Your Car Stereo, and With
no Costly Installation!
Parrot, one of the leaders in wireless peripherals around the mobile
phone, announces today the Parrot PMK5800, the first Bluetooth(R) car-kit
with no installation for both hands-free calling and musical entertainment,
with the audio quality of an advanced installed car-kit.
Simply place the Parrot PMK5800 in any 12V accessory plug like your
cigarette lighter, and easily combine safe calling to music pleasure on the
road. The secret of this Bluetooth stereo car-kit is its embedded FM
emitter: select a free radio frequency, and enjoy crystal clear and full
duplex conversations directly on your car speakers via your car radio.
Parrot has integrated the best-in-breed technologies usually reserved
to embedded car-kits: advanced digital signal processing (DSP), echo
cancellation software, voice recognition, FM scale detector.... With its
special noise reduction software, the Parrot PMK5800 omni-dimensional
microphone picks up your voice while eliminating surrounding noises such as
sirens or road-works for a close-to-perfect voice pick-up.
But that's not all... Enjoy all your favorite tracks stored in your
Bluetooth Stereo (A2DP) mobile phone or MP3 player in Hi-Fi quality
directly on your car speakers. Thanks to Bluetooth wireless technology and
the embedded FM emitter, no more tangled wires to listen to your favorite
songs! And if you are listening to the radio or a CD, the easy call-pickup
function ensures you won't miss a single call. To answer an incoming call,
just press the selected FM preset: the Parrot PMK5800 automatically detects
you have changed the frequency and connects you to the caller.
The base insert of the kit is completely adjustable: the driver can
easily choose its orientation, whatever the location and conformation of
the 12V cradle, while the plastic ring ensures compatibility with all
diameters as well. The Parrot PMK5800 user-friendly interface sports a dual
side LED screen: the driver can set the display on whichever side is best
in order to check the correct radio frequency. And like all Parrot
car-kits, the Parrot PMK5800 is compatible with virtually all Bluetooth
mobile phones on the market.
The Parrot PMK5800 will be available in shops and on
http://www.parrotshopping.com this summer for an MSRP of 89 euros.
About Parrot
Founded in 1994, Parrot has rapidly established itself as a pivotal
global player for wireless mobile telephone accessories. Drawing on its
tried-and-tested expertise on voice recognition and signal processing
technologies, Parrot was one of the very first companies to produce
Bluetooth(R)-based wireless hands free car kits, having identified this
standard's vast potential as early as 1999. In 2006, Parrot sold about 3
million units.
Determined to accompany the wireless peripherals' irresistible
breakthrough into our day-to-day lives, Parrot has been developing since
2006 a new wireless range of sound and image products.
Today, Parrot truly has a major international focus: 90.5% of its sales
are generated outside of France, and a large percentage of its production
is outsourced to carefully selected partners, enabling it to achieve the
best possible level of quality and responsiveness. Parrot is now
particularly well positioned to capitalize on the bright future opening up
for mobile telephone devices.
Parrot has achieved strong growth in its consolidated revenues, up from
80.9 million euros pro forma in 2005 to 166.9 million euros in 2006.
