SAN ANTONIO, June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T), has
announced the availability of GoPhone(R) Pay As You Go feature packages,
which include Night & Weekend Minutes, Messaging and MEdiaNet options. This
is the first set of add-on packages available to Pay As You Go customers
from AT&T, a leader in prepaid wireless service.
Among the major prepaid competitors, only GoPhone Pay As You Go offers
both voice and data feature package options. GoPhone from AT&T will offer
voice packages with 3,000 Night & Weekend Minutes for only $19.99,
messaging packages that start at 200 messages for $4.99 and go up to 3,000
messages for $19.99, and data options with 1MB at $4.99 and 5MB at $9.99.
Messaging packages include text, IM, picture and video messages.
"GoPhone Pay As You Go feature packages combine the spending control of
Pay As You Go service with the convenience and savings of wireless service
packages," says Judy Cavalieri, vice president, AT&T's wireless unit.
"Subscribers can add packages to their account at any time, giving
customers the flexibility to buy what they need when they need it."
Any unused units will roll over and extend to a new expiration date if
the subscriber renews the package before the end of the 30-day service
period. Night & Weekend Minutes are available from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on
weeknights and from 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday on weekends. The
3,000 Night & Weekend Minutes package is available only for Unlimited Talk
plan subscribers.
Feature packages can be purchased by calling the Pay As You Go
Automated Customer Service Interactive Voice Response system (611 from your
handset or (800) 901-9878 from a landline). The cost of the feature package
will be deducted from the customer's Pay As You Go account at the time of
purchase.
The GoPhone Pay As You Go plan allows users to experience the benefits
of wireless mobility on AT&T's wireless network with no annual contract or
credit check and an unlimited talk option to more than 62 million AT&T
wireless customers across the United States. Pay As You Go customers can
replenish their account with cash by purchasing refill cards, or they can
replenish their accounts online and through the handset with debit or
credit cards. The Pay As You Go plan is divided into two service options
that are tailored to the consumer's mobile needs. It provides simplicity
and value right out of the box.
The unlimited talk option allows unlimited calling to other AT&T
wireless customers for $1 a day and all other calls are just 10 cents a
minute. One-dollar-a-day charges apply only on days the phone is used.
Alternatively, customers can choose a pay-per-use option that does not
require an access charge and costs 25 cents a minute.
